Decrypting problem. dirty disk?

the first part of this problem has been posted in the DVD Shrink forum (http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=27355&perpage=15&pagenu mber=1 titled : "odd problem just popped up (long read) "

to recap that.. i'm trying to back-up Blair Witch Project and Punch Drunk Love. absolutely no success at all. but i have been able to back-up, without problem, 6 other movies.

so logically it's either a problem with the DVDs (dirty, scratches) or some sort of protection right?

the error message in DVD Shrink says : <img src="http://www.vertigosystem.com/images/error2.gif">

helpful comments on the other thread led me to DVD Decrypter hoping to solve the problem.

so i put in Punch Drunk Love and fire up DVD Decrypter...

everything starts of seemingly well but after a while the read speed slows down and eventually the below message pops up:

so you know when trying to help:
* i've got the latest vid card and DVD burner drivers.
* i'm using a Sony DRU-500a.
* WinXP
* lots of free space
* lots of RAM
and as i said.. i sucessfully burned before and after encountering the problems with Blair Witch Project and Punch Drunk Love DVDs

so what gives?
any help is greatly appreciated.

also.. i tried hitting retry after these messages but it doesn't prove fruitful.. after about 5 minutes the same message pops up.

so i hit ignore and DVD-Dec. continues... then the vibraphone kicks in to let me know it's done "successfully"

so now i'll open up DVD Shrink ...

dont know matey neither but i had the exact problem with agent cody banks. could not make a backup if i tried....still can't!!
