    DVDFab Disc2 Problem

I apologize if this issue has been discussed before and hope that someone can help me with it.

I am using DVDFab to make full uncompressed backup of DVDS over 2 disks with all original DVD features still intact.

First I used DVDDecrypter to rip the entire DVD to hard drive without problem

I then started up DVDFab to split copied DVD into 2 discs which seems to work.

I then burned each disk to blank DVD+R media using Nero with the appropiate VIDEO_TS folders. This seems to work as well.

The 1st disc (extras plus 1st part of movie) plays without issue on both my PC and standalone DVD player.

Disc 2 (remainder of movie) however is causing me a major headache. It plays perfectly on my PC when inserted. However, on my standalone DVD player (Sony SLVD500P) I keep getting error message saying it cannot play disc.

The proper files seems to have been created and are in the VIDEO_TS folder. I don't know whether it's my DVD player or something I'm doing wrong here

Has anyone else had this problem? If so can you or ayone else help?

    Thanks in advance.

If you use Nero, you should use the DVD-Video mode instead of UDF/ISO. Nero DVD-Video mode creates UDF/ISO image and also verifies that the VIDEO_TS folder is DVD-compliant.

The following verifications are performed by Nero in DVD-Video mode. If Nero produces any of the following messages, then your Disc 2 image is *bad*,

    1. File is not on 2k boundary. You may have a 1GB-limit VOB file or 0-size VOB files. This should be considered as a warning. Check all VOB files to make sure they are divisible by 2048.

    2. DVD-Video files reallocation failed. The resulting DVD-Video might be unplayable. Do you want to continue?
This cryptic error message in Nero is very good in checking the following conditions:

2.1. Pointers in the Video Manager table is not correct (your disc will not play on a DVD player). This error can be fixed by the freeware ifoedit at www.ifoedit.com with "Get VTS sectors" option.

2.2. A cell in the cell address table makes references outside the VOB files. This is caused by errors during the splitting (your disc may play but can freeze).

2.3. The reported size of the IFO+VOB+BUP (domain) files do not match what in the Video Manager.
Again, this error is most likely caused by splitting. Your disc will play on DVD-ROM since DVD-ROM works with ISO format and don't care about UDF, but your DVD player does.

Hope this helps. You might want to check out the alternate tool at www.dvd-replica.com Get the demo which does the disc2 splitting. If the image is okay then there is nothing wrong with your Nero or burner hardware.
