VHS to DVD

I am considering purchasing a dual-deck VCR/DVD Recorder to replace my VCR, but I have heard that it is very difficult to transfer full length movies and even pay per view events (apprx 3 hours) from VHS to DVD-R/RW. I have been advised that it would take more than one disk for your standard movies or pay per view events.

Is this the case?

I have found (by using a Panasonic DMR-E80H) that the best way to back up VHS without a loss in quality is to not put more than 2 hours on a DVD. I backed up VHS copies of some Super Bowls using the machine mentioned above. What makes it easier is that this machine has a built in hard drive so I can capture at once, edit out commercials and then split appropriately.

Hullo freeze17, are you sure you've seen a VCR/DVD Recorder?
I've seen DVD Recorders and VCR/DVD Players. I guess VCR/DVD Recorders will come along though!
Be advised also that Philips DVDR disks are a little troublesome in computers.
