I use dvd decrypter to ripp the dvd's, then use dvd2zone to burn. Can anyone tell me how to convert the original from widescreen to fullscreen, or, custom size as in tmpeg?

Or go into your general setup by pressing the menu button and then under the viewing it might be set to letterbox instead of full. Simply change it there cause if you press the zoom button like other dvds either the button stays there or pixilation occurs...Comment

some dvds are set up as letterbox which shows you black on top and bottom. I had this but when i went into it i could set it to full screen so all my movies now play in full screenComment

As for the pixelation effect, this is because the DVD player is cheap and is due to the way it resizes the movie.
Cheap DVD players use less sophisticated circuitry, the resizing is crap in these players.
I have had 2 cheapo players that had this problem, but the same DVD looks great without any pixelation when using my more expensive and better quality Toshiba DVD player.Comment

I tested a £38 ebench DVD player and had 3x zoom.
There was no pixellation and it actually uses the same chipset as Toshiba, Samsung and Arcam DVD Players.Comment

yes I checked out the link. I am new at this and it is a little hard to follow. Once I rip the dvd, it creates the vob files. Do I compress files before trying tmpeg, or change the vob to mpeg and convert with tmpeg. It's confusing because I don't use same conversion software as mentioned in link. The software I use is very simple and actually easier than converting divx to mpeg for cd burning. I have only had my dvd burner for 2 weeks and am still learning, thanks to the help I find online.Comment
