I have an i5150 dell laptop, how good will be a NEC 4x DVD+RW ND-5100A for burning dvd's, is there a better hardware to choose ?

Many people report the NEC to burn okay.
But, more people say the Pioneer 106 and 107 and also the Plextor, are more compatible/dependable on the good quality generic media. The Pioneer burners are also very compatible with the " Freeware " burning softwares. The Lite-on work well, but are more "choicy" about which media is compatible.
When a friend asks me which burner to buy, I say the Pioneers, or the Plextor is a good choice.Rig :

When I got my burner I was going to get the Nec dual format. I got the Optorite DD0203 instead cause I wanted to play with the HD-burn feature. Overall I have been pleased with the Optorite, made by Sanyo.Comment
