Problems playing burned DVDs in standalone players

I`m new to the DVD burn world, so.
i have expirience something strange from my burned DVDs, after i burn then, made a backup using either Nero, DVDXCopy Platinum, Shrink or whatelse, i can see it perfectly on my standalone DVD player, for the next time the menu loads with gaps at the third time i load the player raises an error message:
`the disc cant be read, clear the disc and retry`

i even make this test in the DVDburner and it works in the same way?
    first > perfect
    second > gaps
third > fails - raises error of structure
    fourth > no chance.

if anyone has an idea... please.
