VOB files

I have backed up a lot of DVD vob files to my hard drives using Smart Ripper as playing from the hard drive was more convient than playing from the disc. My question is, what software should I use to burn those vob files on to a DVD? I have looked at vob edit, but it seems as though there are a lot of steps involved to "hopefully" get a working DVD disc.

I have been using DVD Shrink. Maybe I was not clear in my question, I used to just rip dvds to my hard drive as I have more than plenty o' space, but I am now wanting to burn those old vob files to free up about 175GB of HDD space. DVD Shrink cannot burn those files since there are no video_ts and audio_ts files. I am needing a way to convert vob / ifo infomation (with good quality,) to a format in which I can burn those files. If I can just burn the vob file, that would be great.

A dvd needs .BUP .IFO .VOB in a folder VIDEO_TS (all caps) and an empity AUDIO_TS (all caps) to work, or if you have an ISO image file of each dvd then you can just DVD Decryptor to burn the ISO.

I understand that, but that is a null point right now, if you have ever used smart ripper and performed a backup of a dvd you do not get the files laid out in that format. I am in need of a way or software in which I can get the files in the audio_ts / video_ts format. I do not how ever want to waste an hour or so only to "hopefully" get a working dvd.

You just need to create the IFO and BUP files. A bit of software called ifoedit will do that.

Shrink doesn't actually burn. It calls either DVD Decrypter (to burn ISO's) or Nero.

Nero will automatically create the audio and video_ts folders and puts the IFO's, BUP's and VOB's in the video_ts.

How do I get the AUDIO_TS folder? I followed these instructions (http://www.dvdrhelp.com/forum/userguides/120021.php), but I did not get the audio folder and when I burned the file, I had no audio on my stand alone dvd player, but in my dvd-rom it plays audio with no problem.

The audiio directory is not needed. It is empty on DVD Video DVD's as it is used for DVD Audio discs.

Burning programmes create a empty directory for max compatibility in players.

Try using the standalone DVD player's remote control to select a different audiostream. The button is usually named "Audio" or "Language"...

I got it fingered out. I had used DTS instead of Dolby when recording.

I assume you mean you ripped ONLY the DTS audiostream with the video. if that's the case, and you don't have DTS playback capability, I'm afraid you're out of luck...

No when I re-encoded, I selected dts as the audio stream. I then re-encoded again, but choose Dolby AC3 as the audio stream and it worked without problem. I can play back DTS, so not sure what happened on the first burn.?. It may have just been the way I ripped the older movies? When I use dvdshrink I always choose DTS as the audio streamand it works perfectly.

This is off the topic, but is there a way to get the menus' back during the restructure of the vob(s)?
