    I bet you're right. I've always had roxio on here with no problems, but something got messed up and I had to reinstall roxio. I bet that's it. I'll do a test later to confirm. thanks again for the help.

        Yup! Pretty well documented problem. The two do not mix. I'm with kuneo, Microsoft is not too blame.

          yep, just reinstalled roxio and wasted another disk. thanks for the help guys. what I don't understand is that I've had roxio installed and running forever with no problems, but one day I had to reinstall it and bam illegal disks.

          oh well...I'm just glad to know that ms hasn't stooped to that level just yet.
