    Backing up TV series dvds

I've used dvd shrink to back up several of my movies and usually just back up the main movie itself, unless I can fit the full disc with very little compression. I don't mind not having the menu or extras. But now I want to back up some TV series dvds I have and need the menus to easily jump to the desired episodes, but dvd shrink will have to compress it to 51%. In my opinion thats too much. Even with just the 8 episodes and no menus it only goes up to 58%.
Is there any way I can take say 5 of the 8 episodes on the disc, burn to dvd and some how create my own menu for them? And do so for the rest of the series set as well. Put 5 show on each disc with my own menu? Any other software that will help?

I would suggest using a program called DVD Stripper. It takes a long time, but is able to cut out any part of a DVD even it is only a portion of a titleset.
