hmmm, for some strange reason i think my software is only making VIDEO_TS, it does create an AUDIO_TS folder but its empty! am i doing something really stupid or is it my software heres a screenshot of my output settings.
Hmm, so any ideas why the sound isnt being outputted? i can play the file before i burn it and it still has no sound so i know DVD Shrink isnt to blame.
am i supposed to reinsert the audio track somehow?
Are you doing a 'Whole Disk Backup' in Shrink? It's just that in a 'Reauthor' you can knock out tracks.
Your soundtrack should have stayed interleaved with your video all along.
This isn't a learning curve ... this is b****y mountaineering!
In your software DVD player, when you open the IFO file in the VIDEO_TS folder, does it play with sound? If not, then your DVD authoring software is somehow not reading the original source.
If preview works but your player doesn't emit the sound, it sounds like there's a button off when it should be on or vice versa.
Check your audio properties sliders.
Does an original have sound in your player?

Strange. Let me see if I have this right. You are beginning with an AVI of a full length feature film. I assume that has audio. You convert that to MPEG-2. Yes? What software does that for you? Does that MPEG-2 have audio? Then, you run the MPEG-2 through Movie Factory to author the DVD, but at that point the output, which is in your VIDEO_TS folder has no audio when you open the IFO in your software DVD player? I'm just trying to figure out at which point in the process your lose the audio, so I can perhaps suggest a different way to get the same result.
Hey,
sfheath - Yes the original avi does have sound in the player.
Megamachine - heres the process ive used
DVD Moviefactory - import original AVI add menu and chapters
then preview dvd in moviefactory works fine, then output to VIDEO_TS
Perhaps you could try making an intermediate DVD compliant MPEG-2 from the AVI first, and then load that into MovieFactory, just see if it makes a difference. You can use TMPGEnc for that.
Hey hey again, sorry ive been away for a few days.
ive tried converting them into MPEG-2 files with TMPGEnc
and then sticking them in moviefactory but when i import it i can only import the .m2v and not the .wav thus no sound in the preview.
