I have a problem with dvd shrink 3.1.7 dvd shrink 2.3 works fine. I figure it is my firmware. I need to find a way to set it to all region. I think this is why it gives me a protection problem. I installed DVDRegionFree50 and it will now backup. I do not want to pay for this though. Can anyone help me find a firmware to use or an alternative to DVDRegionFree50.

No. This is a v.3.1.7-specific problem.

i know region free stops the protection broblem is there a main difference in ripping quality between ver 2.3 and 3.1.7. if not i will just use 2.3

v.3.17 allows for "Deep Analysis", which purportedly yields higher quality video results...
