Ripping the subtitles from a dvd

    Hi!

I have antoher question for you guys!

I have an existing dvd with French and English Subtitles.
Now I want to add a Dutch subtitle stream, only the ones on divxstation aren't any good.
The are not syncronize with the movie.
But I want to know if there is any possibility that I can rip the English or French Subtitle, so I will have the right timeline for the subs, and then add a dutch stream?

    Is this possible??

It is possible. The subtitles on a dvd exist as a binary package of subpictures in a vob-file. Subrip can extract these and convert them to text.

Probably you should first try different approaches to getting the subtitles you have synchronized. If they are for the correct edition of the movie, you should be able to succeed. There are many tools to help with synchronizing - I would recommend TimeAdjuster, http://www.ireksoftware.com/applications.html.
