Can I burn to a home stereo DVD burner?

is it possible to use the computer to edit a DVD, and transfer the data to a DVD burner in the home inertaiment center? Or do I need to have the burner in my computer?

I'd imagine that providing you have a video out socket on the PC you could stream your edited movie out through the lead to your standalone. I've not heard of anyone trying this yet though.
This isn't a learning curve ... this is b****y mountaineering!

It would also result in both audio and video quality loss due to analogue connection between PC and the standalone burner.
