    DVD medias (DVD+/-RW DL)?

Is there going to be Duallayer RW discs in the near future?

The drives are already here and some SL drives can be converted to DL with a simple firmware update. The media will be here next month.

I haven't seen any drive that specifies DVD+/-RW DL

I haven't heard of any DL +/- RW being developed. By the time it comes out, Blueray might be a competitor. There might not be the need of a DL +/- RW. As a DVD backup is 1:1, the software could just write to the DL+/- R.

I have seen Verbatim DL+R's but, at £11 each on the Net!

I am hoping my LG 4040 can be firnware upgraded to the LG DL drive.

I believe DL-R is still a few months away perhaps September or October. Pioneer was working on that the last time I read about it.

Newegg had the NEC DL drive for around $88. But if there's a firmware update for the SL 2500A drive then why spend $20-30 more than you need to?
