DVD Burn hangs at 22% complete

Hi, need a little help. I have been using DVDSHRINK for sometime but recently when I go to burn a DVD, it hangs up everytime at 22%-or 23%. Nero 6 ROM shows the drive ready and the drive live is on solid. I have tried reinstalling Nero. I have tried 3 different brands of DVD. I have to soft boot the computer to get it out of the hangup. I am running Win XP Pro. I am using the latest verion of DVDSHRINK. Only software installed recently was Sony Moviemaker.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Did you apply the latest updates for your Nero?

    What burner do you have?

    Internal/external burner?

      Using Nero ROM 6,0,0,15

      8X DVD R- R+ RW internal drive
      Firmware 0055

It was working before with no issue. Now when I use the NEro tools it is showing it as A 8X read/4X write R-/RW drive. No reference to R+ DVD's. Always hangs up at 22% to 23%. Have not tried a R- DVD since I have always used and have R+ dvd's.

Did not load any updates from NERO since it worked from the beginning. I did remove Nero and do a clean re-install. Same results

Is your burner a BTC DRW 1008IM?

Latest updates for Nero is 6.6.0.1. http://www.nero.com/en/nero-up.php

Have you changed your brand of media or are using a new package/spindle of the same brand as before?

Thanks, Cynthia. I will download the updates and try again. When I run DVDINFO pro, it does show the drive R+ capable but does not show this in Roxio tools. Server is tt busy to download updates now so will keep you advised.

And your burner is that a BTC DRW 1008IM? If so - your current firmware was released prior to the stone age.

I have no problems downloading from Nero at this time.

Don't be scared away by the box telling you that IT COULD BE overloaded.
