I got a DVDrw problem, quits at 99% and cant write lead out

Could try out with a RW disc - just to not wasting any R discs before you know your burner is running ok.

The main problem you have is that your burner don't like your brand of discs.

i changed to packard bell ones now which are the 2 speed, how do i find out which ones my writer likes or is it trial and error, is there a brand that is compatible with all writers or something, wasting a lot of money on dvd-rs i cant use

it is a BTC burner, has emprex on the box, its a emprex dvdrw 1016IM can you find out which media is supported with this,i dont have a clue,

If you want to know wich brand that uses the media codes you can search in this page: http://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia.ph...order=Comments

The media code is a way to tell the burner how to burn the different medias regarding to their uniqe media code. If your firmware don't cover a certain brands media code - you will end up with burning coasters.

If you want to see the media codes on your current dvds - use this program (or dvdinfopro) http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/

ok, i found out that the dvd-r that im using is supported by my dvd writer, should i just start and learn how to make these films then, is backing up a dvd really that difficult?
