Problem Burning Video

Hi guys, i am trying to burn a DVD Video ( for home DVD players ) in an Aopen 8X Dual DVD Burner, I'm using NeroVision to do the transcoding and burn into the DVD ( i tried 2 differents marks and formats (+/-) and still getting around 25% of the total progress it just stop...it says that is still working but there is not any advance , till now have been pass around 6 - 7 hours and still 25% of advance, whats could it be ( the file is a rip of a DVD in AVI format with High Resolution ) so, i hope you can help me out . Thank You.

Why don't you simply use DVD Shrink on the ORIGINAL COMMERCIAL DVD, instead of first converting it to .AVI?

well the mater is that i downloaded the rip from a p2p client.
