    Firmware

    Does anybody know where I can get a firmware update / upgrade for this drive.

    HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC-4240N It is fitted to a HP Compaq nx9010 Laptop.

    None of the normal sites or HP seem to have anything for it. I have searched several forums, but no answers found. It is /was made by Hitachi - LG. Current firmware 0111. Any help gratefully received... [B]

      Seems to be a "bad joke" burner - suggest you replace it with something else.

          Thanks Cynthia. I have been to that site before. I was just trying my luck in case someone has found an answer to the prob. Only use the drive for reading so it's not to big a problem.
