Hello,
I am completely new to trying to use these dvd files. I hope this is an appropriate place for posting this.
I'm using a Mac /w OS X.x, I have been successful in downloading and
un-raring some movie files from the newsgroups using MacPar. While the file is in a folder on my HD I can view this movie normally using Apple's DVD player. If I use Mplayer OS X 2, I can only seem to play the individual "vob" files separately.
Once I burn the VIDEO_TS folder to a DVD-R+ using Toast 5.2.3, Apple's DVD
player will not recognize or play the media file(s) or vob's at all, but I
can still open & view the individual vob's from the burned dvd using Mplayer.
I am on an older G4 without a super drive (DVD-RAM). It will not even mount
the DVD-R or RW +-discs. It does however mount and play commercial DVD's. The CD/DVD Burner I use is an external FW drive. I thought this might be the reasons for the viewing problem, but I can use "DVD Player" to view
commercial DVD's while mounted from this external drive. (I can't do that while I'm booted into OS9.x, have to use the built in drive)
Any help or resources anyone can point me to will b greatly appreciated.
TIA, ct
