(If NERO, make sure it's set to "Disc-at-once" and NO "multisession")

Is there an error message from NERO? If so, EXACTLY what does it say?

Is, as I asked before, NERO set to "Disc at once", as it should be?

there is no disc at once anywhere in my nero
and no it comes up telling me disc has copied successfully

Look under the "Burn" tab...

disc at once is ticked but it is not highlighted worfing is light grey and doesn't do anything if I click on it

You have not clarified whether you are attempting to burn "Video/Audio" or "Data". What type of disk are you trying to burn?

I am doing movies using dvd shrink and burning to dvd using nero when they are finished it says burning was successful but dvd plays in burner but not in dvd player or dvd rom the disc has not finalized

It sounds like a media compatibility problem. To check the compatibilities/limitations of your standalone player with regards to specific types of media visit:

I have burned over 160 dvd's and never had a failure but now this is happening( last 2 weeks) and I have lost over 20 dvd's 3 different brands
I have tried them in 4 different dvd players This is getting very frustrating
