Major Problem!! Please help!

ok i don't know whats going on!

I recently bought Ritek Ridata 8x DVD media, my burner is a Plextor PX-716A, is there any way to burn these dvd's at 4x with dvd shrink???

I was successful at backing up several movies, however, when i try to play the burned dvd on my computer, my pc does not read the dvd at all... it still thinks the dvd tray is empty, when i try to open the dvd, everything freezes!!! please help, any idea what this is?? i also cant play them on the PS2

i first decrypt them with DVD decrypter then use DVD shrink

You can only select speed if you burn with DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter - not Nero it will burn at max speed.

How do you play the DVD on your PC? Can you see the files on your disc if you use Windows file manager?

So the same burner that reported no errors during the burning - can't read the same disc?

the burner that reported no errors cannot read whats on the disc it just burned, weird! i normally use Power DVD to play dvd's on my PC.. i think the Ritek Ridata media is not supported by my plextor px 716a which is weird cause on the plextor site it states that it is compatible... i went back to the Matrix brand that i was using before and it burns perfect and plays on all dvd players that i have tried

Sure. DON'T set DVD Shrink to automatically burn with NERO. Then, after creating files with DVD Shrink, open NERO, set to "DVD-Video" mode, place ALL pertinent files (.IFOs, .BUPs, .VOBs) into the RED "VIDEO_TS" and select "Burn". When the "Burn" screen appears, simply click on the down arrow to the right of the indicated burn speed and select 4x...
