burning avis and mpgs to dvd

alright, so i have an avi that is roughly 700megs, and a mpg that is rougly 800megs, and when i try to burn them it says theyre way too big...

how can i get these files small enough to burn? and why does it say 700meg on my computer, then when i put them on the dvd burning program, it says theyre like 6gig?

Well first you need to Transcode them to VOB using something like NeroVision Express 3 and write to your hard drive.

Then use DVD Shrink and shrink them up to fit a DVD-5.
    Cheers!
