    DVD Burner Stops Burning

    Please Help !!!

The problem I'm having is that I can decrypt a DVD, yet when I try to burn using Shrink, either opening the disk or using the backup on my c: drive, it goes through the encoding process fine. Then it will start to burn, it will burn anywhere from 10% to 80% of the DVD and then stop. I do not get an error message, and the computer does not freeze up, I can open other programs if I choose, the process just stops. I have uninstalled "Shrink" a few times with no avail.

Does anyone else have this problem?

    Thanks.

Which program is DVD Shrink using to burn the DVD, NERO or DVD Decrypter?

If DVD Shrink finishes encoding it has done its job - it has now handed off to a 3rd party burning program.

Post your burning log. If you use Nero, it is located at C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero\NeroHistory.log

In the meantime, read the Golden rules of burning, make sure your DMA is on and your burner's firmware is up to date (see my sig for links).

          You don't have a port 0, ID 1 device so don't worry about UDMA5.
Looks like your DVD burner, G: is external. USB or FireWire?
          Drivers up to date?
Since you have two internal drives, I'd be tempted to put the burner internally into the Seconday Master channel but save that for a last resort

I'd try again with maybe 4x speed on a ReWritable? especially for an external burner.

Update your Nero - old versions had problems with USB burners. It's free.
