Jmet I am using the latest Decryptor and the latest shrink.
2 copies of episode 4 has a error at 49%. I just finished backing up episode 5 and 6. There is obviously a problem with the DVD copyright and DVD Decryptor right? Has anyone had a success with this burn?

Rebel985 - you might just have 2 bad disks. No other problems with your drive at all?

Can you post your DVD Decrypter log please?

In my sig is a link to "How to test your burn". Can you do that but with your original for SW4. Especially look for non-green squares.

I had no difficulty backing up the Region 1 version of this DVD...

Since you are erroring out at the same place that would indicate that the disc is from the same bad production run. In order to get a successful rip of the movie, take yours back to wherever you purchased it and get your money back. Then go to a different area in your city and buy a new disc. The problem that you have is that the discs are produced in various 'runs' of the machinery and you are being supplied from a defective 'run'. This is not ths fault of your retailer, just simply a bad quality control issue on the part of the manufacturer.
Some of our members have had to even go to another city to buy the non-defective discs.
We have seen this on only a few movies but the problem does exist and there is no ripper that can handle a bad pressing.
Also, please leave DVD Decrypter on its default settings. Playing with them without knowing exactly what they do only compounds the likelyhood for error and makes it much more difficult to read the log when you post it.

Star wars a new hope IV

I have tried to decrypt Star Wars IV, with the same problem. I tried it with 4 different disks. I had my friend get a copy for me in another state and try it always the same gets to 49% and I/O. Check condition. Has anyone EVER gotten a successful backup?

Thanks for the reply. I havent had any luck. I have a copy, but upon getting that copy, i returned 1 other copy and I also tried another copy from a friend of mine, and it all had the same problem. So I dont know what can be the cause of that!! Once again thanks, and hopefully someone will reply to your question!!

I didn't have trouble with any of the R2 Star Wars films. I just used Shrink on it's own. I did both full disc and movie only backups.
