Error while burning w/ DVD Decrypter

While trying to back up a movie, I get an I/O error :

Interpretation: Cannot Write Medium - Incompatible Format

Can anyone tell me what this means, and how to fix the problem?
I was using a cheap -R disc, and had no problems. Recently I picked up a spindle of Sony discs, things have not worked since.

1) Are they also DVD-Rs - or DVD+Rs?

2) Is your burner capable of burning both formats or only DVD-R?

The disks are "-R", and so is my burner. The "cheap" disks that I used are "Harvey Norman" (a local electronics dealer) labeled disks. I have backed up 10+ movies with these discs, using DVD Shrink, and DVD Decrypter, with no problems or errors. I have the most updated versions of both programs, and have tried running DVD43 aswell. Once again any help would be appreciated

The latest firmware is 0060 - get it here.

Please post the whole DVD Decrypter burn log. What media are you actually using?

Don't buy from HVN or any other retailer - I buy from www.pcx.com.au and they are effing fantastic. Find compatible disks for your burner - see here.

Thanks for the help. I updated the firmware for the burner, and that seemed to fix the problem.

The media I used was Sony 04D1, DVD-R. Prior to that, I used discs that were labeled CMC MAG. AF1, with no problems at all.

They may have burned well for you and they may even play back nicely, but the odds are that they will not be viable in a year or maybe even 6 months. Your media choice is always up to you but if you are looking for long term storage, you may be in for a real dissapointment.
