HP dvd+r 8x

Ok i am getting this error with this media only on a I/O magic IDVD16DD burner. Using DVD decrypter/Menushrink and DVD shrink. I've used alot of media including Khypermedia and never had a problem. I have about a 10% success rate with these HP's but use the 4X HP's without a problem. Here is my error

You'll have to post the ENTIRE log (You've only posted the very beginning)

Just from that short partial log, your firmware is out of date. The latest is A07R. You have A07F. (Its at the bottom of the page out beside "BTC 1016IM (DVDRW IDE 16X)
Currently RPC1 firmwares based on" - http://tdb.rpc1.org/

But please post the full log as setarip suggested. There is more information we need to look at.

Sorry I thought I grabbed the whole thing. Does NERO keep a file/log of these or do I need to make another coaster to get it!!

Also researching the net I found a post saying the I/O magic was a rebadged BenQ and I d-loaded the firmware update for BenQ. When I tried to run the update it said it was the wrong drive. Is it possible I didn't do it correctly?

If need be i will try another burn today.

They log files are here: C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero
Look for a file named "NeroHistory.log"
Open that file up and copy it.
Then paste it here.

If it said that, them most certainly you download the wrong firmware for your burner.

Sorry to say it but 'CMC.MAG.E01.8' is just crappy media.

Try to get some good media instead.

Regarding your firmware. The next latest one was the one jmet suggested. The latest one is A082. You find it here: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1913

I doubt it will help you with your crappy media.

Another option is to lower the output size in DVD Shrink preferences from default 4464 to something lower. Crappy media have a tendency to fail at the end of the burning - as in your case.

Sounds as ACME discs...

Try to get some with a more well knowned brand name; Ritek, Fuji, Verbatim , Maxell...

I have had marginal success by making sure disc size is under 4gb. This means no movies but tv shows and personal stuff burn ok. Thanks for the help.
