Hey guys, I posted this in the Hardware Section, but that area doesn't seem to get a lot of traffic, so I'm gonna post it here as well, because I really need some help!
Okay, just when I had everything figured out my computer went nuts and I replaced a lot of parts...including the motherboard and the DVD Writer.
Long story short...my new burner is a Toshiba SDR5372BK10000. I checked over at videohelp.com for some insight into that player (courtesy of the link in Blutach's sig-thanks again ) and I didn't see any good or bad comments about it.
Here's the problem though: I have tried burning 2 different DVDs with it using my usual process, ripping them to the hard drive with DVD decrypter and then burning through DVD Shrink. For some odd reason though, at various points in this process my computer shuts down and restarts! A blue screen pops up and says that Windows has encountered an error and is shutting down for the protection of the computer. Then it restarts and there's an error message window that says Windows has recovered from a serious error. I'm certain it has something to do with the new burner, because it only happens when I run programs that involve the burner...i.e. DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink.
Can anyone out there help me with this one?
