Backing up DATA to a DVD

I am a regular user of DVDshrink and PocketDivx so I'm not a complete novice, However I have not had a DVD burner untill recently. I would like to back up the data on my HD to a DVD (instead of CD) and am looking for a freeware backup progam that will work on a Win 2K setup (Dell)
Any help appriciated.

I use Ghost for backing up but it is not freeware. Did ya try the program that came with your burner? Burning programs that come with a burner will do data burning to your DVD.

It came with MyDVD v4.0 and PowerDVD v5 I went to their sites but AFAICT they focus on copying DVD's rather that burning DATA disks. Have not loaded them as yet.

Hmmm weird a burner with no data burning program supplied...Joe did ya just get it ...your my dvd is 2 versions behind...they are up to 6 it looks like

A 'bulk' sold burner - if it is one of those - is never shipped with 'goodies' such as a burning program. Don't know if it's a bulk version he bought.

anyone who sells a burner to a consumer without some sort of burning software should be shot.

The NEC I just bought came with nothing but, the burner itself. That is the way I want it any way. I still have "My DVD", "Record Now Deluxe", and all that other crap software that came with my Sony burner that I have never ever used.

I know ya can buy barebones(that's how I bought my second LiteOn) but evidently this guy didn't know and they did give em my dvd and power dvd.

Joe try here for nero OEM cheap $6 to $10 a great program. When ya call tell them what burner you have to make sure it'll work

go to the nero website and get the updates.

Also get DVD Decrypter for backing up your personally owned commercial DVD's
