The .IFO is read, because it contains all the navigation instructions regarding how to read the various streams contained in the .VOBs...

my mistake. i shoulda used a better program to burn. just downloaded gear and it works! i think my mistake was when i used sonic recordnow i was just burning the video_ts folder as a data disc b/c the dvd option was not available, probably b/c it didn't come w/ the version that came w/ my computer. thanks for all the help. u really helped me figure out my mistake.
