Your playback system probably doesn't have the ability to handle DTS format output...

i have the klipsch promedia dd-5.1 decoder and it does both dolby 5.1 and dts. im using the spdif out. it shows the dts symbol on the nero player but no sound. i have a sb audigy 2 zs video editor for the sound also.

        1) Have you previously successfully played any DVDs (original or copy) with DTS audio on this system, with ANY player software?

        2) If you're playing a backup copy, is it possible you deleted the DTS audiotrack when creating it?

So what happens now, if you DO play the original DVD on your PC? Do you or don't you get DTS audio?

                  2) Try using a different software DVD player on your PC - such as WinDVD, PowerDVD, or (freeware) VideoLAN ("VLC")

no dts works through the pc. all dts movies play through the xbox and the rca dvd. the dts wont play through the windows media player either, (not sure if it should or not either).
