error during backup

I am trying to backup a disk so that I can burn it, however, I keep getting error message stating "Data Error (Cyclic Redundancy Check)" do you know what I am doing wrong? It will allow me to backup the extra's but not the movie itself.
I have been able to burn two movies with no problem. I am new here so please bare with me.

You could have a dirty disc or you may have encountered a DVD with a unique copy protection scheme ARccOS

what movie titles are you trying to back up? What region are they?

Error During Backup

Thank you both. The movie I am trying to copy is Tarzan II. I am going to try to clean it and also, I have downloaded DVDFab decryptor so I will see if these work.

I am not sure how to find out what region the movie is from. Do you know how to do this?

Insert your disc and load up DVD Decrypter - you should see in the program window - what region(s) it is.

I was only asking about the region because I have only worked with region one, I have had this same problem, I like to use DVD shrink with DVD43 running in the back ground if that fails I use DVD Decrypter to rip the DVD then use shrink to back it up.
The DVD43 works pretty good with a lot of the ARccOS protected DVD's how ever it doesnt work for all of them.

Most of the time it won't. There are some region 2 DVD's that give off that error message but, the region 1 DVD's shrink does no problem.
