Additional Data on a DVD?

When I burn DVD+R video discs by copying the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders can I also add an additional folder without invalidating the disc or causing incompatibility issues with stand alone DVD players?

The reason for this question is when I create a DVD I want to archive the cover and label (Lightscribe) artwork in case I want to duplicate the disc in the future.

I'll try it by putting some data in the audio folder, that might fool nero.
It'll let you do it. And I'll know if it worked in 8 or 9 minutes.

Question was whether it would work on a stand alone player. I certainly will test this myself but I was hoping for some insight as to whether it will reduce the compatibility. Without many players I can't know this. Was hoping someone else does this and knows if there are any consequences.

The audio folder is there as a dummy only, its for compatibilty with older
standalones. I didn't bother checking since there seems little point.
Waste of time. Overall a neat idea.

It should also be possible to put files in the root directory of the DVD. My ROTS DVD has the DVD ROM files there.

If you use Nero. It is important to drag the files into the video_ts folder first then drag the other files over.

They must reside in the root folder as nwg said. They need not be in a folder, but can be if that makes it convenient.

It needs to be at the end of the disk after AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS. These are special folders and should contain only special filenames - in AUDIO_TS it must be IFO/BUP/AOB.

ImgToolsClassic makes a perfect ISO for burning including DVD ROM files.

That's right. RecordNow balked at the files being in the AUDIO_TS folder but didn't mind them being in the root directory. I'm sure if the files were in a separate folder in the root directory the outcome would also be OK.

LOL! I found out that doing an ISO read/write on Decrypter on Star Wars Episode I kept the InterActual player and stuff on it.
