I just burned a second disc and prelimnary tests indicate it plays on all 3 dvd players. The quality score is better but somehow the graph doesn't. I guess the QS is the important thing.
Yikes!
that plays at 31%? They say it takes 3-4 disks for the burner to learn.
Keep us posted. The red at the layer break in the bottom graph is what kept you from a 50 score which is safe playable. Well the technology is young and maybe ritek will get it's act together and/or verbs will drop in price.
I have burned many Ritek D01 (Datasafe) on my Pioneer 109. They all play fine. Verbatims in the UK are just too expensive. I only buy DVD's when they go down to £5.99 and Verbs are over £4.
I haven't tried it yet but I bought a Traxdata with Riocoh Japan dye. That will be my next DL burn.
nwg, what are the Quality Scores from your scans of the Riteks? Reading the reviews, Pioneer seemed to have a high success rate with these. The NEC 3540 seemed to have mixed to good success, so I took a chance.

My Pioneer doesn't seem be able to do the PIE/PIF scans. I can only do this one.
I never really got into the scans. I all I care about is if it plays on my equipment.
The first pic is Revenge of the Sith and the second is Dune.
