Looking for some info on the USB port on my Direct TV DVR.Right now I'm tapeing video on to my VCR. Should'nt there be a way to down load digital using the USB port?

probably not, usb ports on dvr/pvr's are usually disabled (and probably usb1.1 anyway). IIRC there are ways to do it, involving hacking the box & voiding the warranty, but there is no guarantee windows can even read the hard disk.

other than that, using a capture card is an option, but a crappy one.
