DVD shrink says 'caching of files failed'

You still need to update your version of Nero. See my suggestion above.

Could be that the swap file is not big enough.

How to do : right clic on desktop --> properties --> advanced --> performances --> advanced --> modify --> choose a memory size x1.5 than the RAM size (e.G i choose 512 for initial and 512 for max).

Another solution:

reboot (sincerely) : i made it and it works ; it seems to be a problem of memory or swap ; i had too much app running for too much time ; once rebooted all worked well

A third option:

Go to add/remove progs, to modify nero's installed components. Make sure you install Nero StartSmart, Nero Burning ROM, Nero Vision (this is essential!!!!) and Nero Tools.

I upgraded to 6.6.1.4, and rebooted, and had none of these issues!

I would suggest 2 things!
A full neroinfo report attached with one of the problem disks loaded in the pioneer(which may be dying?)
Burning manually as it looks like there may be a conflict between shrink and nero, something's tying up
her memory!

cynthia- hi!! thank you for taking interest also! where is 'desktop'? ive search it and right clicked but failed at the 'performance' click! and if i take the reboot option, i will lose all my saved info?? how can i save them? im hopeless at computers. i had a go at changing nero and now i have erased the whole thing!!!!!!!!!! will dvd shrink work withoput it? seeing that i hardly uswe nero anyway?

Claudia - your desktop is what you can see when no window is open. Where it says MyComputer etc.

Now, abandon Ner0 completely.

From DVD Shrink - Backup → Select backup target → ISO image file and burn with DVD Decrypter

Works every time.

ok, i have done what you asked, i just have another really stupid question (get ready) i dont think i have a dvd decrypter!!!! i havent heard of it before and tried searching for it but nothing came up.

but, dvd shrink is letting me analyse and decode a dvd so ill see how it goes!!!!!
