rental piracy suspicion(?)...

ok,i usually first rent a movie before buying it,so the guy that works there told me if i find pirated dvds in his store,i get 100 rents 4 free...
i know its even weird to hear sth like that,but...thats where i live 80% of all digital content is pirated...
ok,anyways,i think "edison" dvd thy rent me could be pirated,as theres no protection and its region free(all regions).also its not a double layer,its 2ch audio,4:3 aspect,terrible video quality etc...its pressed though...
so i was wondering is this enough evidence thats it is pirated?

why not?when you buy a pirated cd here,from croatian artist,it turns out to be pressed in romania or somewhere similar,so why not with the dvds?i mean this dvd has on labelside reg.code2 pal sign,and it turned out to be region free?

Not all store bought DVD's on dual layer some are single layer disc mostly found on older movies newly made in DVD.
