welcome to the forum, just buy the one that is 8X or slower then you can burn 4x, or you can buy other burners like LG, NEC, Benq that allow to burn 4x with 16X media

      I have two suggestions:

      1) Buy quality media. A low quality media give bad results @ any speed you burn it.
      2) Never burn a 16x certified media @4x: it give a bad burn. A 16x media give better results if burned @12x or 8x max. Don't go to a lower speed.

This confirm that is burner/firmware/media related.

I posted also some burnings at different speed, and you saw that I obtained the best results burning @12x.

Have you tryed to burn through Imagburn or DVDDecrypter, you can select the burn speed there.

Burning speed are written on firmware. Selecting a speed on imgburn that is not in the firmware is useless, because that speed is not available for the burner. The only way to use a speed not present in the firmware is to modify the firmware itself. And this void warranty
