"Undocumented Error Message!" Need help please

Hey,

I could burn fine a few weeks ago, now when I burn anything I get this error

[Write ERROR] LBA: 1924384, Length: 16
S:KEY - 04/44/86 - "Undocumented Error Message!"

Can't be the media, I don't know whats wrong, here is my log file from Alchol 120% I have the free version.

I can't burn anything... can someone please help me figure out why it stops at 85% with a error, it does this in all programs so I figure one log is as good as another, let me know if you need more info.

I am not familiar with this program so all I can offer are suggestions. Try & think about what you have done with your computer since this started. Try using search & see if you can find an error guide for the program. Burn with another Program to see if you get the same error. Make sure the image file doesn't have anything wrong with it. Make sure there is nothing running in the background when you are trying to burn.

I havent done anything since... I don't know wha it could be.

I get the same error in any programs, nero, dvd decrypter... let me know which log file you want and I can post it for you if you tell me how to get my last log from the given program.

Every program gives me the sme error, LAYER 6 LBA or something like that...

It doesn't show an ATAPI error code. Try doing a burn in test mode with DVD Decrypter or ImgBurn and post a log.

In the meantime, read and implement The Golden Rules of Burning - link in my signature.

All those rules I already follow, cept the media I use is RiDATA which ive never had problems with.. its actually all ive used to back up dvds.

Ill start burning in dvd decrypter to post the log now, untill then I assume "firmware" is the drivers for the dvd drive?

I went to the site but with the "Product Identification" I couldn't find which drivers were for my burner, I didn't know I could get them on that site as there no longer on the LG site and I don't have the cd. Could someone please help me figure out which one to download, I can't seem to find mine in there anywhere.

I updated the firmware but it still gives me a error, the test mode in dvd dectrypter worked fine but when I actualy burn I get the error.

Right - you have the dreaded Ritek G05 disks. This media is known to be variable and exhibit many problems. Some are OK but many are faulty.

Get Taiyo Yudens or Verbatims and your problems will vanish.

Where can I buy these disks, ive never heard of them before..

I can't order them off the net, any stores in canada carry them that you are aware of?

Also are these disks good for any type of dvd burning, like backing up movies and games?

wow the place I buy my RiDATA cds at sell those "Taiyo Yuden 4.7GB 8x DVD-R, Silver Thermal Lacquer, 50 Pack" so I guess I can just get those...

Are all sony or fuji disks made in japan or do I have to make sure of that when buying?

When I first got my dvd burner I was told by a few people RiDATA are by far the best and most reliable disks that I could buy/use.. Have they just recently become faulty or have they always been this way, ive never had problems untill now. Im guessing I should stay away from them from now on?

Also thanks for the replys, I was sure it couldn't be the disks as ive never had problems, if they are faulty then its gonna save me a lot of head aches alough I just bought 100 RiDATA cds so im kinda screwed there... I assume they wont take them back with them opened now but I can maybe sell them to a friend who still says there good.
