Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, please move if it is.
I'm currently using ImgBurn and TY 4x "value line" discs to make backups. The MID of the batch I'm using is TYG02. I notice in ImgBurn's log that sometimes my average and max burn speeds are quite low (ie. max burn speed is 6.2x when I select 8x). I thought maybe it was one of those DMA problems so I uninstalled the secondary IDE channel, rebooted and tried to burn again. This time my log shows a higher average and max speed when I select 8x (max speed is reported to be 8.2x).
The problem is eventually after a few burns it goes into the "slow" mode again, burning at a max of 6x until I do the whole uninstall/reboot process. It's no big deal, but sometimes it takes over 20 minutes to burn one dvd at 8x! This is on a ND-6550 slimline burner on my laptop btw. Anyone have any suggestions on why exactly this is happening?
