    Illegal Disc Error

Hey everyone, i'm a bit new to this, but here goes. I've been trying to burn some files using Nero 6.3.0 with a Sony DVD RW DW22A. I've tried using Verbatim +R's and also Office Max DVD-R's. I keep getting the "Illegal Disc" Error posted below. I've read a bunch of threads and it all seems kind of confusing to me.

Can someone point me in the right direction plz?

    Sony DRU-710A, Sony DW-U20A, Sony DW-U21A, Sony DW-D22A, and Sony DW-D23A
    - rebadged LiteOn 3S-v1 drives
    - for more information, consult the LiteOn and LiteOn-Sony alliance DVD-writer overview
    - you can use LiteOn tools/firmwares/etc. for this drive
looks like sony has abandoned firmware support for that drive

but codeguys have patched a newer firmware that will see the newer media so you will be flashing with CSOT patched

    bottom one for 1653S

        Many thanks!

Chewy, you're the man (or woman). Many thanks! I used the LtnFW app. along with the BYS3 .bin file. (the other files you suggested wouldn't unpack with winrar......i'm not quite sure why)

anyways, i'm up and running again.

        Thanks again!

          Burn cat burn!

and evidently "there's more than one way to skin a cat"

way to go, confused heck of me the first time I ever read that stuff, one guy talked of sweating bullets
          during the crossflash
