    Burning for the Long Haul

    Hi Gang,

I found this forum about a week ago knowing nothing about how to backup a DVD. The education I received from searching the forum and reading various FAQs/guides etc here was unbelievably helpful and had me up and running in no time. So a big thanks to everyone.

Anyhow I found this news article today which may possibly be of interest:

    Cheers - Gordon

Interesting read but my good discs cost me fifty cents each, those discs cost $3.50. So going by the article if I pull out my original every five years & burn a new backup. $3.50 divided by fifty cents = 7, so I should be good for 35 years or 7 backups for 5 years for the price of one gold disc.

It wasn't an article, just a good thrashing of a self proclaimed expert in a very long thread in a forum.
