Burning from DVD+RW to DVD+R

I have successfully ripped and burned several movies to DVD+RW. What I need to know is, can I just put the DVD+RW in the DVD ROM drive and burn it directly to a DVD+R in my DVD R/RW drive?

Or do I have to rip it to HDD again then burn it to DVD+R?

You can try but everything needs to be optimal, if the drives share a cable
you have to burn slow, if the RW is a marginal burn then your dvd-rom may
drop the ball.
It's better just to use shrink to open the disk in your best reader, that way you get a check on the movie and rip to hard drive then burn.
