    What constitutes a good scan?

I see 'post your disc scan' threads all over the various burning forums, and I'm just curious to know what exactly a good scan is supposed to look like. I've never really done one on any of my backups; I figure if they play when I put them in my set-top player, it's good enough

    Anyone want to enlighten me?

    Hi Donovan,

Here is a good place to start!
The latest version is worth downloading even if you already have a version with nero. http://www.cdspeed2000.com/ put a blank in your dvd burner and then click on the Disc Info tab you'll see the important stuff, like the MID code and supported write speeds, in this case my LG 4163B burner's firmware allows

Excellent, thank you. I'll start educating (and checking!) myself from now on!
