    TDK Disk Quality

    Hi

    I've looked at the sticky's and see TDK are highly rated - just wondering how they are vs. Verbs. Costco has buy on get one on 100 packs of DVD's for $40 and wondering if I get those or stick Verbs at Best Buy.

    Thanks

    cheers, katz

      I think the TDK on sale at Costco are the white printable disk.
      I have never used the white one's but have read bad reports on them.

      The TDK 4X or 8X or 16X I have used thousands of them with 98.7% success rate in LG GSA 4163B burners.
      The sucess rate in my current burners is 100% in the BenQ DW1655 and 97% in the LG GSA H10A.

          Your kidding right??,,TDK is crap Media,,they shouldn't be in the same
          sentence as Verbatim.

          get some TY's,Verbs or "MIJ" Sony,Fuji or Maxwell and burn at 4x
          and you'll have great results.

          MIJ= made in Japan

          you got a Best buy by you??got some good sales going on;

          BB sales

            tdk has made some great disks in the past, but look at these 2 pages for the 16x disks

            now let's compare to taiyo yuden 8x media

            when you see a quality scan there's no comparison

                    If you can't or don't want to order media online to get Taiyo Yuden, you should stick with Verbatim...they should be widely available locally and on sale all the time.

                        I usually use verbatims, bought on sale at Best Buy.
                        However, i also use the white printable 16x TDKs from Costco, and never have had a problem. And at 200 for $40, thats 20 cents a dvd) Note that i do not print on them.

                          If you do buy TDK, I would recommend not burning past 4gb. I found major quality problems beyond that point, and sometimes throughout.

                          TY or Verbatim is the only way to go IMO!
