BTW Which is better - this NEC or a Plextor 716 or a 740? Will any of them scan?

I know plex 740 if you cross over to benq 1640 then it can scan, nec can scan too but not as fast and not reliable ( depend on drives)

some can and some is not reliable (nec 3550), plex 740 ( need to read BQ flasher to flash to benq 1640 very dangerous need to read in CDF or you can google BQ flasher

Got mines yesterday and installed it today. So far (burnt a test DVD) it works great. Much faster than my old 2X burner. It's also quite loud, but I suppose thats due to the fact that it's so fast!
