    DVD stutters and skips

Ive had a problem with DVD movies stopping and stuttering during playback.
I'll try to give as much info as I can gather.

I copied a original movie and burned with DVD fab gold.
The copy wont play without stuttering. I put it in another laptop drive and it played normal. except it skipped once.

I used DVD fab gold for reading and writing.
drive: nec DVD+rw nd 6650A firmware ver. 1.23

I checked the disk with info tool and found no errors.
Using memorex DVD+R blanks (I know this is not the best brand, but if thats the problem then why do they play in the other laptop).

    Using the slowest write speed.
Could it be a dirty disk? I did 3 in a row all with the same bad results.
I checked and found no firmware update for this drive.

    alienware notebook area 51 7700 2.9gz 3 gig ram HD 1 60 gigs HD 2 100 gigs.
I have DVD fab gold, imageburn, DVDinfo tool, and shrink 3.2

    Im getting pissed.

            Stuttering DVD

I thought I had a startling revelation, but Im fooled again.
As I stated before I checked the dvd's on my brothers compap laptop, and they played normal. except one skip. then I shut down screen saver, and everything in msconfig startup. I then rebooted in my hardward profile that I use with sonar in which all modems and wireless connections are disabled.
Im using a wireless router and linksys card.

when I restarted I checked the dvd again and it did not skip once with all the before mentioned shut down. then I started up again with every thing running and just disabled the wireless card. again no stuttering on the dvd movie. next.... I then enabled the wireless card and yup! you guessed it. the movie started stuttering again.

but..... later on I tried the movie again with everything shut down including the wireless card and I'll be damned if the movie started stuttering again.
Is this notebook playing a game with me?

            what next please!

I plan on getting some verbatim or yuden blanks have not been able to locate any as of yet.

but...if my issue is bad media then why would the movies play ok in my brothers compaq notebook? since my last post I recopied the movie in question from the original dvd. as of now it seems that my wireless card was interfering with the playback of all movies. but the one in question would not play even when the card was disabled. when I redid it it seems to playing ok perhaps I had a bad ISO image of that movie.
