Question about DL DVDs

Do most DVD burners work with DL discs? I have a big DVD that I want to backup but I think I need a DL to do the job. How do I know if my burner will work???

Download Infotool, run it and see if your burner supports writing on DL media.

Infotool is free and don't require installation.

Only those that specifically list DVD-R DL or DVD+R DL. What brand & model burner do you have?

Great. I used that program and it says it does write to DL. So, do I have to burn with another program or do I just use Shrink like usual?

no need for shrink use imgburn.

The best way to write on DL discs is to create an ISO file with DVD Decrypter and then burn the ISO with imgburn

It won't work with a Arcoss DVD though. Create a ISO using RipIt4Me then Imgburn to burn.

Do not use DL-R. YOu will just get burn and DVD player compatibility problems.

I do all DVD's to ISO through RipIt now.

And make shure you Book-type your +R's to "DVD-ROM",you can do that in
ImgBurn.

and use good media like Verbatim, it's the best DL media hands down!!

Most DL burners will do that automatically with DL+R's nowadays. Even if it doesn't. There are software that can run in the backrgound to do it automatically for you. I use one for my LG burner. My Pioneer can do it automatically.

Not on a NEC 3450,3550,,, i had to do it manually in IB....but once
set i was good to go.

It never remembers for me and my LG. When I reboot or switch off it goes back.

really thats funny, because when i set mine it said 499 changes left,
didn't have to set it again.
