On a certain "freaky" forum I notice that several users continually switch firmware, going from older to newer, back again...Mostly on Benq, but I have seen it on other drives too. It seems they are doing this in an attempt to guage which firmware works the best for them.
However, since these drives "learn" as they do successive burns, how can one expect to accurately guage firmware results, one over another, esp. if you keep changing it? Unless you were to burn say, 10-15? discs of one type mid code with one firmware to get a good idea of what is going on? Seems like a lot of time, effort & wasted discs, for not much in return...
Am I missing something here?
