Everyone,
I have this Samsung DVD+/-DLRWL1 F16 dvd burner. Just recently it has started giving me the error of illegal disk. Following are the disks that i have tried using:
maxell 16x - r
memorex 16x -r
I am running XP and using Nero.
CD burning is working fine, no problems using the same software.
Here is what i have done so far:
I put the blank DVD in and it shows there is nothing in the dvd burner. The icon for the drive changes from DVD to CD.
I cleaned up the DVD lens but no go and same problem.
Resintalled Nero, no go
I upgraded the bios to BWSE but no go.
so i gave up and decided to reinstall XP on my machine.
I reinstalled XP and i still cant burn it, it says illegal disk.
BUT now atleast it detects that there is a DVD in there... but when i say burn... it fails. The only other thing i could think about is trying to buy another set of dvd's with 8x and see if it helps. I really dont think so but its worth to give a try.
If anyone knows the answer, your help will be appreciated.
