    can't erase DVD RW

have a gateway laptop mx6422 using cyberlink power dvd solution with power 2 go. I am using a memorex disk that says dvd+R but also has the RW logo on the case and on the dvd. My internal cd/DVD player/burner is a phillips dvd+-RW sdvd8441 PA48. The Memorex dvd is a 16x 4.7 gb 120 min dvd. Please tell me what is wrong. I am anewbie to dvd burning.

    Thanks!

@edfru2 The "RW" represents the format logo, not whether the disc is rewritable or not. It's kind of like a DVD forum's "DVD" logo. C link below.

AHHH, that explains it! I bought the wrong disks.I would really like the double density disks that are re writeable and hold like 8 gb.

Thanks for helping the "noob" and the nice welcome to the forum.
